I’ve been on IT for 11 years and was a mod there for some time. Headspace might have better aesthetics/design and is a household name at this point, but Insight Timer seems like it's got a lot more going for it Headspace still has a place in my daily routine - I like their nature soundscapes and focus music - but, truth be told, if I didn't have that student discount, I wouldn't even bother, because I honestly couldn't bring myself to pay $70 a year (or worse, $13 a month) for it. This alone puts it above Headspace, and I'm looking forward to trying their guided meditations I also like that it'll keep going after the timer has gone off - yesterday I started ten minute session, but decided to meditate for another six minutes on top of that. I went straight to the timer before anything else and instantly fell in love with just how much you can tailor a session to your liking (and save different presets too). I saw a user on here mention Insight Timer, and decided to download it last night. I like the semi-guided and unguided options, but the times aren't very flexible, and the app doesn't count if you meditate beyond your session And while I don't want to sit here and pretend it's been awful - I've enjoyed it a lot, in fact, and credit it with helping make meditation a daily part of my routine - I've always wondered why they didn't have more customizable mediation sessions. I've been using Headspace for years, mostly because it was the only app I knew and the student discount is great ($10 for a full year). Meditation Pics - for meditation-related images.
